Paul Edward Carman, 61, of Columbus, passed away August 21, 2023. He was born April 30, 1962, in Anderson, Indiana to the late Joe R. and Donna M. (Walker) Carman. He is survived by his son Joseph Owen Carman, of Columbus. He was a truck driver for many years. Paul will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Private arrangements were entrusted to Community Funeral Care, Edinburgh.

![]() Danielle Renae Mills, 34, of Columbus, passed away, August 16, 2023. She was born May 8, 1989, in Columbus to Marvin and Patricia Russell Mills. She was a graduate of Hauser High School where she was a cheerleader through all four years of high school. She was a member of St. Louis Crossing Methodist Church and was formerly part of Hartsville Church of Christ. Danielle loved spending time with her family. She attended concerts with her dad and enjoyed playing on softball teams with her brother. She was a shopper and she particularly liked ½ off day at Goodwill, shopping there with her mother. The Clifford fish fry, 80’s and 90’s music, her Jeep, being an aunt, and being the center of attention were all things that she enjoyed with the many friends and family members that she shared her life with. She is survived by her parents; her sons, Byeren, Baereyen, and Bynette; and her brother, Jason (Heaven Butler, Mills, of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her nieces, Haven and Kadantz. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 22, at St. Louis Crossing Methodist Church. Pastor Tim Dillingham and Pastor Brad Douglas will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m., until 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 21, 2023 at the church. Interment will be in Hawcreek Cemetery. He was the first of five siblings born on June 2, 1972, in Franklin, Indiana to parents Nicolas Eugene Whetstine and Jennifer Ann Whetstine (Wilborn). He was a graduate of Edinburgh Community High School. Jason fathered two children, his namesake, Jason L. Whetstine, Jr. (Veronica Hancock Lawson) and Jennifer Opal Ann Whetstine (Angela Thompson Fannin) who will miss him immensely. He enjoyed scavenging for morels and arrowheads, fishing, hunting and spending time with loved ones. Survivors include his father, children, granddaughter, Gaia Whetstine, siblings, Heath Whetstine (Pamela), Matthew Whetstine (Tonie), Nicole Fox (Phillip) and Sophia Morgan (Marty) and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, maternal grandparents, Elmer and Martha Wilborn and paternal grandparents, Charles Whetstine and Helen Richardson. Services will be 12:00, p.m., Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Who So Ever Will Church in Edinburgh, Indiana. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the service at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Funeral Care, Edinburgh. ![]() Sarah Catharine Elliott Lee-Plough, 96, formerly of Connersville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, after a brief illness. She had recently moved to Northridge Gracious Retirement Living in Fishers, Indiana. Born January 13, 1927, she was the only surviving child of Henry Ray and Pauline Collins Kuqua Elliott. Sarah graduated from Connersville High School and Purdue University and retired from the Fayette County School Corporation, having taught 35 years in the English, Journalism, and Home Economics Departments. Sarah owned and managed the Willows Restaurant in Connersville for over 17 years. Sarah lived most of her life on the farm in Connersville and Jackson Townships of Fayette County on which her father was born. Sarah married John H. Lee April 4, 1948 and they had sons Thomas, David and Donald. She married Howard F. Plough June 29, 1989. Sarah was preceded in death by her brother Henry (died as an infant), her sister Dorothy Lou (died as infant), her parents (Ray - died 1968, Pauline - died 1971), her husband John H. Lee (died 1982), her husband Howard F. Plough (died 2018), and her son, Donald Ray Lee (died 2011). Sarah enjoyed serving on the Board of the Fayette County Public Library, and was an avid reader. She enjoyed being a lifelong member of the literary ADOU club, Tri Kappa philanthropic sorority, and for many years was a foods judge at county fairs and the Indiana State Fair. Sarah was an active lifelong member of the Connersville First United Methodist Church, where she had served as a Trustee, had helped lead the annual “Tasty Luncheon”, and had helped serve monthly Salvation Army dinners. Sarah is survived by her sons, Thomas, David and wife Carol; daughters-in-law Nancy Lee and Anne- Marie Ghattas-Lee; grandchildren Ryan Lee (Christy), Megan Pryor (Jeff), Scott Lee (Abbey), Carrie Cash (Jason), Cassie Romine (Sonny), Corey Lee (Alyse), Claire Lee (Deklin Veenhuizen), John Lee (Courtney) and Preston Lee; stepsons Brian and Mark Plough, and stepdaughter Jana Cramer. She had sixteen great-grandchildren, and several step-grandchildren, including her step granddaughter Tonia Saba. Sarah’s family is grateful for her friends from Connersville and Northridge Gracious Retirement Living who have been so attentive to her, especially in the last several years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Connersville First United Methodist Church; the Fayette County Public Library; and the Lord’s Table Soup Kitchen-Connersville Salvation Army. A graveside service is planned for Tuesday, August 15 at 10:00 a.m., at Dale Cemetery in Connersville. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m., at Northridge Gracious Retirement Living at 14532 Allisonville Road, Fishers, Indiana. |
