Ronald Christian Brenton, 90, of Greenwood, Indiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by his beloved family and devoted wife on January 13, 2025. Ron, a cherished individual known for his endearing hugs and fist bumps, lived a life filled with tremendous love and service towards others.

Ronald is survived by his greatest joy, the love of his life and beloved wife, Janet (Morgan) Brenton of 69 ½ years. He is also survived by their children: David Brenton (Jane), Ronna Sue Flynn (Jim), Gregory Brenton, Mark Brenton, grandchildren: Sarah Brenton Smith (Hunter), Kathryn Brenton Muehlhaus (Brian), Joshua Flynn, Joel Flynn, great-grandchildren: Marilyn and Spencer Smith, Ellie and Thomas Muehlhaus, sister: Nancy Strainer and nephews. His departure leaves an unfillable void in their lives; yet they find comfort in the memories and everlasting love they shared.

He was preceded in death by his sister Norma Beckelheimer-Vista and brother-in-law Donald Strainer.

Ronald was born on December 16, 1934, in Indianapolis to Norman S Brenton and Edna (Henderson) Brenton. He graduated from Arsenal Technical High School and Purdue University Extension Indianapolis. He was a Graphic Designer/Commercial Artist for Allison Transmission division of General Motors for 30 years. After retiring at age 50, 40 years ago, he devoted his creative talents to his passion of restoring 1950’s Fords with retractable hardtops as well as his "favorite" wife’s 1957 Ford Thunderbird with his business, Ron’s Restorations. He was a founding member of the International Ford Retractable Club and an active member of the Hoosier Skyliner Club. He was also actively involved in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Oldtimers Club.

Ron was known for his unwavering love and support for his family and community. Along with his wife, he was an active member of Faith United Church of Christ until 2009 and later, Christ Indianapolis United Methodist Church. He was actively involved with the Promise Keepers of CIUMC.

Ron was a beacon of kindness and love and will forever reside in our hearts. His legacy, exemplified by his family devotion and compassion, will continue to inspire and guide us. As we grapple with the loss of his physical presence, we find solace in knowing that his spirit lives on through the love he instilled in us.

While we mourn the loss of our dear Ronnie, we also aim to cherish the moments shared and the joy brought into our lives.  We will come together to remember and pay tribute to Ronald.  Your presence would mean a great deal to us during this time of remembrance and reflection.
