Rhonda Ann Dunn, 71, of Columbus Indiana passed away May 1, 2025. She was born August 29, 1953, in Franklin Indiana, to the late Vonda A. Dunn and Mary A. Conner Dunn. She is survived by her sister Vona Robin Dunn, of Edinburgh Indiana. She also is survived by a nephew Zachary A. Ballinger of Lisbon Ohio and a niece Amanda B. Ballinger Wesley of Nineveh Indiana. She had 3 great nephews and one great niece. Rhonda was a dedicated volunteer to the people and town of Nashville. She had volunteered at the Brown County History Center for years. It was one of her many loves she also belonged and helped build the BC Cemetery Preservation Group, the Brown County Rock and Mineral Club, she also belonged to the Pioneer Women, the Peaceful Valley Heritage and many more vital roles she played in volunteering for the better of the community. She also wrote articles for the Brown County Democrat and the Brown County Journal, she made you tube videos of graveyards and taught many people her skills to carry on her work. She even had a touring book published for her town. She was the archivist for the Brown County Historical Society. In her honor the Brown County Genealogy Society dedicated an engraved stone to her since she loved rocks. All are welcome to leave a stone there in her honor. She graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Geology and she also graduated from Ivy Tech with a degree in Fine Arts. She had previously been a robotics engineer with Alpine Industries in Greenwood Indiana. She was driven with a passion to serve the people and continue learning. She was very active in the genealogy department of the history center and ancestry. If you had a question, she had the answer or would find it. She will be greatly missed by many. She loved traveling and going on adventures with the Rock Club. Rock Hounding as it is called was one of her lifetime passions. She was also a very talented oil painter and had a talent for history and ancestry and so many other things. She loved life and her friends and pets. Cancer took her from us but she left a legacy of love, honor and selfless call to preserve our earth and history. She was a teacher of life and loved by many. A Celebration of Rhonda's life was held at 2:00 pm. at the Brown County History Center on May 18, 2025. A special tribute to the BC Cemetery Preservation Group and Frank Reed for all their personal time and devotion for getting Rhonda's eternal resting place set in Crouch's Cemetery.
