John W. Spurlock, 70, of Flatrock, passed away November 22, 2025. He was born March 15, 1955, in Hamilton, Ohio, to the late Sherman and Lettie (Davidson) Sallee. He married Sylvia Dianna (Weddle) Spurlock on August 19, 1978, in Indianapolis, and she survives. Along with his loving wife, John is also survived by his son, Chuck (Erica) Hardman, of Nineveh; daughters, Brandy (David) Beasley, of Greenwood, and Jessica (Aaron) Wright, of Franklin; brothers, Jerry Spurlock, of Indianapolis, Kenny Spurlock, of Brown County, and Farris (Janice) Sallee, of Brown County; sisters, Francine (Bruce) Smothers, of New Palestine, and Sharon (Russell) Shepherd, of Brown County; and grandchildren, Tyler, Emma, Katie, Braxton, Hunter, Charlie, and Chuckie. John loved his family and will be missed by everyone who knew him. He graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1974 with an auto body mechanic vocational award. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to fish, mushroom and turtle hunt, pheasant hunt, and kayak. Pastor Eli Johnson and Pastor Randy Denton will officiate a funeral service at 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 28, 2025, at Who So Ever Will Community Church, Edinburgh. Visitation will be at the church from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 27, 2025. Burial will be in Lickspring Cemetery, Trafalgar.
