Ida “Genette” Burton, 78, of Mt. Auburn, Indiana, passed away from this life at 7:39 p.m., Monday, July 15, 2024, at home surrounded with love.  She was born September 3, 1945, in Sparksville, Kentucky.  She is the daughter of the late James Molen and Ida Ezola Corbin.  She married Ronald Burton on February 1, 1964.
Gennette is survived by her husband of 60 years; 3 sons: Marty, Randy (April), Brent (Amanda), all of Edinburgh; 3 grandchildren: Alyssa (Jesse) – caregivers, Cole (Abby), Corbin; and 5 step grandchildren: Blake (Autumn), Shelby (Cameron), Jaleah, Elijah, Gavin; 5 great grandchildren: Landon, Nolan, Xander, Alayna, Ivy; and 3 step great grandchildren: Dax, Charli, Arrow; 3 brothers: Fred (Teresa) Corbin, Ronnie (Janet) Corbin, Michael (Tammy) Corbin, all of Sparksville, Kentucky; and 3 sisters: Maxine Froedge, Debbie (Tony) Furkin, of Sparksville, KY, and Anita Franklin, of Columbia, KY; and many nieces and nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son: James Thomas, and brother: Glen Corbin.

She was a homemaker who loved the Lord and enjoyed her many collections, crafting, making ceramics.  She had a love for animals and enjoyed sitting on the front porch and spending time visiting with her family.  She loved family and togetherness.  She loved the outdoors, fishing, flowers, gardening.  She loved being a grandmother.  She loved the beauty of her home (Kentucky) and sharing it with all of her family.  She was a woman of God.  She was a woman of many hobbies including ceramics, crafting, and collecting.  She loved animals and caring for others.  She was the light in many lives, what many would call the heart of the family.  She loved with all her heart and made everyone in her presence feel comfortable.  She is an unforgettable soul and her legacy and all the beautiful characteristics she taught will continue to live on through all her family.

The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 19, 2024, at the Who So Ever Will Community Church located at 623 S. Eisenhower Drive, Edinburgh, IN 46124.  Her brother Pastor Michael Corbin and Pastor Randy Denton will officiate the service.  Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the service at the church.  Mrs. Burton will be laid to rest at Rest Haven Cemetery, Edinburgh.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Funeral Care, Edinburgh.
